Background Screening
Ohio North is teaming up with Player's Health in partnership with the JDP to provide best in class background screening and ensure all adults interacting with youth athletes are playing by the rules. Player's Health will also help leagues and clubs take care of the off-the-field management of participant safety compliance, including, but not limited to, SafeSport training, concussion training and Lindsay’s Law.
Effective for the 2019/2020 seasonal year, Ohio North’s new Participant Safety program (formerly referred to as Risk Management), will require adults to complete their background screening (every two years) and applicable participant safety compliance (as required by state/federal laws and/or Ohio North policy) directly in Player's Health regardless of your current registration platform.
An adult is defined as all coaches, team managers, trainers, organization staff/employees, board members, referees and any other person age 18 or older who may have the opportunity to have direct and unmonitored access to children in your organization.

Background Screening Cost/Payment
The cost is $20 per background screening, which will be payable online 1) by the adult requesting and completing the application, or 2) a code from your club/league.
Background Screening Results
Background screening results will typically be available to Ohio North within five (5) business day; however, the specific time frame varies based on the amount of time it takes counties and states to return results.
Additional Information
- Background screening applications and participant safety compliance MUST be completed by the applicant. Any individual who completes an application on behalf of another individual is also subject to suspension or other discipline, and in addition, may be subject to criminal or civil liability.
